Paramount Motors, the official distributor of MG motors has officially revealed the price of its new compact SUV MG S5 (before called MG ES5) in Nepal. MG S5 EV Overview

Design

The MG S5 EV sports a sleeker design than its predecessor, the MG ZS EV. Its dimensions in length, width, and height measure 4476 x 1849 x 1621 mm, respectively making it a longer (by 162 mm) and slim vehicle than the ZS EV. This translates to higher wheels of 2730 mm compared to ZS’s 2581 mm. It is said to weigh between 1685 kg and 1740 kg.

The front headlights have become sharper and more slender than ever featured in the car’s close-face design. The grilles are split in the mid-bottom as we saw on the ZS EV. Other features include silver roof racks, regular door handles, Y-shaped tail-lights as on the MG4, spoiler design to improve performance, etc.

The cockpit features a flat-bottom steering wheel, a central touchscreen, and an instrument panel. The exact details regarding them haven’t been made available so we need to wait for official information on them. Anyway, the central console has a hollow design and provides two cupholders. It also has a wireless charging support for mobile phones. Likewise, the seats are made of leather material providing a sense of sophistication and posh build quality.

Performance

MG S5 is powered by a single motor at the rear axle which produces a maximum power of 125 kW (168 hp) and 250 Nm of maximum torque. MG says that the car can reach 0 to 100 kmph in 8 seconds and its top speed is stated to be 170 kmh.

The car is built on SAIC’s Nebula-pure architecture as on MG4 and boasts a five-link rear suspension system which provides more control and comfortable riding.

S5 is likely to come with advanced driving assistance and safety technologies. The ZS EV featured ADAS so this new iteration may come with a higher level of the system too. We need official details for the confirmation though.

There are two lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery options offered in this car- 49.1 kWh and 62.2 kWh manufactured by SAIC-CATL. MG claims that S5 has the world’s thinnest battery pack at 110 mm.

Tata sales over 2 lakh EVs but Tesla competition is ahead

मध्यान्तरसम्म गोलरहित बराबरीमा रोकिएको खेलमा दोस्रो हाफ सुरु भएको केही क्षणमै सहलेशका कुलदीप कार्कीले गोल गर्दै टिमलाई अग्रता दिलाएका थिए।

तर, त्यसको केही समयमै च्याम्पियनका सन्तोष न्यौपानेले बराबरी गोल फर्काए। खेलको अन्तिम समयमा हेमन लिम्बुले निर्णायक गोल गरेपछि काठमाडौंले उपाधि उचाल्न सफल भयो।

लिम्बु ‘म्यान अफ द म्याच’ घोषित भए भने उनलाई नगद ३ हजार रुपैयाँसहित ट्रफी, मेडल र प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान गरियो।

विजेता च्याम्पियन ब्वाईजले नगद ३ लाख रुपैयाँसहित ट्रफी, मेडल र प्रमाणपत्र प्राप्त गर्‍यो भने उपविजेता सहलेश यूथ क्लबले १ लाख ५१ हजार रुपैयाँसहित मेडल र प्रमाणपत्र हात पार्‍यो।

शनिबार साँझ आयोजित समापन समारोहमा कटारी नगरप्रमुख राजेशचन्द्र श्रेष्ठ, उपप्रमुख गीता खड्का, नगर खेलकुद विकास समिति अध्यक्ष दीपक राईलगायतले विजेता टोली र खेलाडीलाई नगद पुरस्कार, ट्रफी तथा प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान गरे।

विधागत पुरस्कारतर्फ ‘उदयमान खेलाडी’ को उपाधि आयोजक कटारी ११ का ऋतिक तामाङले प्राप्त गरे। ‘उत्कृष्ट डिफेन्डर’ च्याम्पियन ब्वाईजका धिरेन क्षेत्री, ‘उत्कृष्ट गोलरक्षक’ चरी लिम्बु, ‘सर्वाधिक गोलकर्ता’ (५ गोल) सौर्य राउत तथा ‘उत्कृष्ट खेलाडी’ सहलेश यूथ क्लबका शिशिर लेखी घोषित भए। विधागत विजेताहरुलाई जनही ५ हजार नगद, ट्रफी र प्रमाणपत्र प्रदान गरिएको थियो।

कटारी बजारस्थित टाइगर खेलमैदानमा गत फागुन १० गतेदेखि सुरु भएको प्रतियोगितामा भूटानको सामत्से फुटबल क्लबसहित विभिन्न ८ टोली सहभागी थिए। कटारी नगरपालिकाको बजेट प्रायोजनमा नगर खेलकुद विकास समितिले प्रतियोगिता आयोजना गरेको हो।
