It’s now possible to make payments via Master Card in Nepal with a QR scan. Nepal Clearing House Limited and Master Card have reached a partnership agreement that enables to make transactions using Master Card, especially it will help tourists to pay for goods and services during their stay in the country.
Both organizations have agreed that tourists visiting Nepal can pay by scanning a QR code using NCHL’s NepalPay QR and other QR merchant locations in Nepal. The cooperation effectively allows visitors in Nepal to pay for their shopping, hotel stay, or other purposes.
Just recently, Visa Card users were also facilitated to pay in Nepal via POS machines. Now, the inclusion of Master Card in this digital payment ecosystem further aids the digital payment facility for tourists.
According to NCHL, there are over one million merchants in NepalPay QR subscription and other interoperable QR networks in Nepal. On the other hand, Mastercard has three billion-plus card users worldwide.
